When law enforcement is called in to aid a sexual assault victim, it's critical that the officers are trained to handle such cases properly both for the investigation and for the care of the victim. These situations may involve campus or local police officers. In either case, a good relationship between the school and the police department provides better understanding of both the potential victims' and the university's needs.
