CSCC Overview

Texas Woman’s University (TWU), five organizations, and eight partner institutions of higher education (IHE) have created a consortium to address the serious and pervasive problem of sexual assault on college and university campuses in Texas. Combined, the colleges and universities serve approximately 100,000 students. The consortium’s goal is to create consistent, effective prevention and response measures to campus sexual assault (CSA) in participating Texas institutions of higher education (IHE) as well as scores of IHEs connected with our partner organizations.

Consortium members employ a multi-pronged approach to CSA prevention that utilizes existing resources from White House Task Force (WHTF) repositories Not Alone and It’s On Us and includes widespread dissemination of data-informed best practices for prevention and response by our partnering organizations. This widespread dissemination of information and best practices to the membership of the partner organizations will facilitate effective responses by member institutions that are not participants in the consortium and contribute to a change in social norms that foster sexual violence.
